The Mostro Pattern for Mac!

For a while now, we’ve been working on being able to deliver the CD instructions included with some of the patterns to our customers who are Mac users. To that end, the Mac version of The Mostro Puppet Pattern is now available!

In the months ahead, we’ll be revisiting some of the older patterns here at Project Puppet, updating them, and making Mac versions available as well.

The Mostro Puppet Pattern

We know many of you have been waiting patiently for the new Monster Series from Project Puppet. Finally, the wait is over! After over eight months in development, Project Puppet is very happy to release The Mostro Puppet Pattern.

The Mostro Pattern includes a puppet pattern and instructions for building a full-bodied monster hand puppet with a round, spherical head shape that stands 25 inches from head to foot. By adding facial features (such as eyes, a nose, horns or teeth), you can create your own unique monster character. Two very useful tutorials are also included, the Working with Faux Fur tutorial and the Arm Rods and Posable Hands tutorial.

Bad News…

We discovered today that many emails, questions and comments, that were sent to us from the Contact Us page of the website were mistakenly delivered to our Spam Folder. We have found emails dating as far back as January 24th of this year. If you have used the contact form in the past month and have not received a reply from us, we apologize profusely for the delay. We will be answering these emails in the order they were received during the next few days, as well as correcting any issues with the contact form itself.

Again we apologize for the trouble. Your questions and comments are important to us. Please bear with us while we resolve this issue. Thanks.

Monster Series Update…

The wait is just about over! The first pattern of a new Monster Series here at Project Puppet, The Mostro Puppet Pattern, will be released next week. “Mostro” is Italian for “monster” by the way.

If you’ve been waiting for the Mostro Puppet Pattern and have not yet signed up for Project Puppet Updates, now would be the time. That’s all we’re saying!

And We’re Back…

2008

It’s been a little over two and a half years since Project Puppet “opened its doors” right here on the Internet, and we must say it’s been a fun ride. Thanks to all - our customers, clients, fellow puppet builders - who have shown their support in so many ways.

Without further delay, let’s get this year off to a great start with a new tutorial! We receive a lot of emails asking how to add arm rods to the Simple Series puppets. Over the next week, we’ll be demonstrating how to add posable hands and arm rods to your characters. For the tutorial, we’ll be using the Arm and Hand Pattern that is included with the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern, but the steps presented can be followed to add permanent arm rods and posable hands to any puppet - whether or not the character is based on one of the Project Puppet patterns.

So, let’s get going!

Ned’s Going On Vacation!

Ned Needs A Vacation

For those of you who do not know Ned Needleman is Project Puppet’s shipping department guru. He wanted us to let you know that he’ll be taking a long overdue vacation next week. As a result the shipping operations at Project Puppet will be on hiatus as well.

GSPP on CDYou may still place orders as usual through the site, but please note that orders requiring shipping will not be sent out from the 18th to the 25th of December. Of course, this will not affect the receiving of the downloadable patterns (the Simple Series) available at Project Puppet.

Also, if you would like to order the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern on CD, One Way Street has a great price on them right now - $16.00. Check out The Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern on CD at One Way Street!

Quick Update

Hi all! First we want to apologize for the “silence” here on the blog for the past month or so. We are currently undergoing some revamping and reorganizing here at Project Puppet. The new arrangement will allow for more blog posts, including new building projects and tutorials, more additions to the gallery, and more frequent pattern releases without sacrificing the excellent customer service for which Project Puppet is known by many.

Also, tonight, at 10 PM EST, the Project Puppet site will experience a period of downtime that may last up to an hour. Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere! We’re just transferring to a new server.

Many have been asking about the release of the new Monster Series. The release is on the horizon and will be here soon. The first pattern of the new Monster Series (which will include two brand new tutorials) will, hands down, be one of the best patterns released by Project Puppet to date. Thanks for your patience and stay tuned…
