The Crafty Den Puppet Workshop

GSP Puppet by Crafty Den

The Crafty Den Puppet Workshop recently created the great character you see in the above picture from the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern. If you like the little guy, he could be yours! Check out the Ebay auction for the puppet character.

GSPP on CDThe Crafty Den Puppet Workshop is a great resource for custom puppet work and for original puppet characters. Visit the site at www.thecraftyden.com! Or if you feel inspired to make your own puppet, the Crafty Den is also an authorized Project Puppet Distributor of The Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern on CD.

Thanks to The Crafty Den Puppet Workshop for giving the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern and whirl and for sharing the excellent results!

Project Puppet Patterns - A Soft Sculpture Style

Pig Trio

One of the great things about the Project Puppet patterns is their flexibility. The patterns themselves are meant only to be a base on which a virtually endless amount of characters could be built. This allows for a great range in styles that reflect the puppet builder’s creativity and vision. This picture above comes to us from Brenda in Arkansas. We love the soft-sculpture look of the characters, like stuffed toys that came to life. Brenda used the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern as a base.

soft-sculpture puppetWe received this picture from Michele in New York. Her character, Hope, has a similar soft-sculpture look. Michele used the Roly Puppet Pattern as a base. Michele writes:

“I used the Roly Pattern; reticulated foam for the head, fleece, spoons and plastic eyes. Her hair is braided and made from yarn. I bought the outfit from Build-A-Bear Workshop. Initially I used floral spray paint for her face, but decided to cover her and sculpt out her features. I am proud of my first effort. Thank you Project Puppet for your great website and comprehensive patterns and instructions.”

Thanks to Brenda and Michele for sending in pictures of their puppet characters!

The Melonhead Puppet Pattern

The Melonhead Puppet Pattern

It’s here! The forth pattern release in Project Puppet’s Simple Series is The Melonhead Pattern. As the name suggests, the Melonhead is based on an oval head shape, similar to a football or watermelon, and sports the same ease of construction that our Simple Series patterns make possible. The Melonhead’s oval shape lends itself to the creation of a variety of character types and it goes together in a matter of hours. Check it out!
