Tom Stewart over at Puppeteers Unite has recently built a puppet using Project Puppet’s Pinhead Puppet Pattern. How much did it cost in materials? $11.00 CAN! That’s about $9.50 USD! Tom has the breakdown of the cost of materials to build the puppet character in his post.

Puppet building, as with most endeavors, can cost as little or as much as you choose. With a little creativity, you can really stretch that dollar and end up with fantastic puppet characters.

We got news of this little fellow just the other day and just had to share him. His name is Seymour J. Batfink and he is the creation of Gordon S. from Minnesota. Gordon really used the Project Puppet patterns to the full, capitalizing on the basic shapes of different patterns. He explains:

“I needed to make a Bat character for my upcoming TV pilot so I used (and heavily modified) the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern. He’s been made fatter by adding a 1″ strip all the way down the center and shored up by a custom foam “skull” insert. His body actually started life as the PUNTO HEAD PATTERN! With a few more mods (including simply placing foam rings in appropriate spots to make him the right length and shape), he has a lovely pear-shaped abdomen. Quite the “Frankenstein” job of assembly, but I think he looks grand.” - Gordon

Hi all! It’s been a while since our last post, but we’ve been very busy the past month or so. We are glad to announce the new Project Puppet website! We’ve added some helpful information and improved the check out process a bit. Over the next few weeks more puppets will be added to the gallery, so if you submitted your puppet to the gallery recently you will be seeing it very shortly on the Project Puppet site.
