Puppet Clothes

We receive a lot of emails from folks asking how to go about making or finding clothes for their puppets. The above picture was sent to us by one of our customers, Chris Faulkenberry, of his latest puppet character based on the Roly Pattern. Where did he get that cool Air Service Uniform? Build-A-Bear Workshop! Looks like it fit the Roly perfectly!

The Build-A-Bear Workshop has quite a selection of outfits, accessories, shoes, etc. at very reasonable prices. You may want to keep this resource in mind for your next Simple Series puppet! Thanks for sharing Chris!

Glorified “Sock” Puppets For Sale

Ever since the release of the Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern, we have many times, quite accidentally, come across pictures on the Internet of puppets made with the pattern. It’s good to see folks putting the pattern to good use, even if they don’t write in to tell us about it. The above picture was actually sent to us by one of our customers who made and sold Glorified “Sock” Puppets at a Magic Expo in Australia.

The picture below is a puppet we found on eBay while browsing “professional puppets”. The winning bid? A whopping $73.89 USD. Not too bad for an initial investment of $19.95 USD. Here’s the link to the ended auction.

Here’s a couple of more auctions we found:

Half Dome Eyes

We get a lot of emails at Project Puppet asking for suggestions for different materials to use for eyes. Ben, over at PuppetMinister.com, has added a puppet supplies section to his site and is now offering 45mm half dome plastic eye blanks. These eyes are usually very hard to find or can only be purchased in bulk quantities. Thanks for making these available, Ben!
