Character: Once upon a time, there lived a pirate who loved the color purple. In fact, he loved the color purple so much, they called him The Purple Pirate. One day The Purple Pirate asked his magic lobster:
"Lobster, lobster in the sea,
Who is thar more purple than me?"
When the magic lobster replied, "There is another...it is a whale." The Purple Pirate cried out, "But nobody can ever be more purple than me! I'll have to catch this purple whale!"
It was a great plan, with one problem: The Purple Pirate didn't have a pirate ship. So, he sent out his three mates. Third Mate Johnny tried to make a pirate ship from straw, but that didn't work. Second Mate Orlando tried to make one from wood, but the whale captured him. Only First Mate Keira was smart enough to get a pirate ship, but it was all for naught. The Purple Pirate and the Purple Whale had met and, since they both liked purple so much, become fast friends. And they went off to enjoy a nice game of checkers.
Technical: The Purple Pirate was one of the top ten finalists in the Once Upon A Puppet Contest held in 2007 right here at Project Puppet.
