The Melonhead Puppet Pattern
Character: Sonny was born one of the "four" blind mice...but was soon abandoned by his three blind brothers because of his obsessive desire to become like Ray Charles. The only gig he could find was singing to Sleeping Beauty as she...well, slept. Sonny found this a wearisome task because the audience was not very responsive. He hit it big when he started touring with his hero, Ray Charles. He was never allowed on stage, but it was said that he and Ray spent the better part of ten years together...often laughing and imagining what "colors" would look like. Ray left Sonny a large chunk of his will and he now lives in Ray's old estate. He has since made up with his three brothers....but, is living happily alone.
Technical: Sonny was one of the top ten finalists in the Once Upon A Puppet Contest held in 2007 right here at Project Puppet.
