The Melonhead Puppet Pattern
Character: This puppet is not an average Painter. He have a magic paints, which can make a picture without brush. Every color means a different music. For example, Red color means Irish music. Yellow color means polka. Blue is a country music and finally Green is a French music. This Puppet had stage debut. Puppet was performed on the show PAINTING BY THE BRUSH, on tenth Festival of Our Children Art, which happened in Cultural Center Z A M E K in Poznan. Technical: Inspiration to make this live hand puppet were the puppets from the Broadway musical AVENUE Q. Puppet was made for the order from Complex of Special Schools no 103, named after Maria Grzegorzewska in Poznan. Brothers teachers gave me a one clue - puppet have to be huge, that audience could see it. This puppet was made by the Melonhead Puppet Pattern . I printed patterns and made a large xreox copy, to the European Size A2. Pattern for hands and body I made by myself. Skull and body were made of the foam, which have 3 cm thickness. All was sewed manually of polar material. Nose, eyelids were made of felt. Hairs i made of marabou. The clothes were bought the clothes shop.
