Ken-E - The Roly Puppet Pattern

Builder: Nathan McKnight
Pattern: The Roly Puppet Pattern

Character: Ken-E is your average curious, hyper, ultra-talkative ten year-old boy. He loves video games, looking for fossils and arrowheads in his back yard, and riding his bike. He wants to be an astronaut when he grows up so he can look for dinosaur bones on other planets.

Technical: I made this puppet with no real deviations from the Roly pattern. The skin is made from an old spongebob bathrobe my son grew out of, and the shirt is also an outgrown garment of his. The eyes were made from a doll joint disc with a plain black doll eye inserted through the hole. The poseable fingers and arm rod were my own idea utilizing a wire coat hanger and leftover ties from some of my son's toys bent at the ends with needle-nosed pliers.
