Brian the Scarecrow - The Roly Puppet Pattern

Builder: Ben Jones
Pattern: The Roly Puppet Pattern

Character: "Meet Brian the (not-so-very) Scarecrow. Looking to break from the family tradition of farm life, Brian set forth to make his way in this world. His first job was constructing straw houses along the gulf coast, which quickly became fashionable with the Piggy set until tragic hurricane Wolf toppled his dream.

Brian spent a few years as a zookeeper in charge of the flying monkeys until one fateful day; Brian broke the back of the camel on which he was riding. Seeing this as a sign he needed to lose weight, Brian embarked on a quest that has led him into the fitness industry where his wildly popular Tai-Cro became a fitness sensation. This led Brian to open a chain of fitness centers.

Building on this success, Brian invested in a small construction business and renamed it the Yellow Brick Paving Company, which is enjoying much success in Australia.

Brian is also a philanthropist. He helps fund the Tin Man Heart Institute at the Toto Memorial Hospital and established a burn unit dedicated to the brave Scarecrow Firefighters of the world.

His motto is: 'I could do mathematics or solve acrobatics, if I only lived in Spain'.think about it." - Ben

Technical: "Burlap is an interesting material to work with. I suggest hand stitching, followed by machine stitching and not trimming the seams. Using a red marker to trace the hands added a "tater-sack" appeal." - Ben
