Pattern:
The Rotondo Puppet Pattern
Character: "Benny (his friends call him "Ben") is a cool, laid back, modern hippie dreamer who likes to ponder peace, and the pursuit of the perfect peanut butter pie. When he's not screening indie flicks at the local movie house, he likes to meet up with a good friend or two and go hiking to commune with nature." - David
Technical: "Benny was built using the Rotondo Puppet Pattern and the Rotondo Fleece Head Covering Pattern. Since this was my first puppet, I used foam and fleece from a local fabric store as well as a fur fleece for the hair. I was able to use the 'head covering pattern' to map out how I would cut the hair. The hand and arm patterns were joined to make one seamless piece. His eyes are ping-pong ball halves and I used the 24mm wiggle eyes from the craft store and snipped them open to use their black discs for his pupils. About ¾ of a ping-pong ball was used for the nose and covered in fleece. Eyebrows were cut from felt and a tongue was cut from craft foam. Ears were simply cut from the fleece, sewn together and then glued on." - David
